Mark Corballis

Operator & advisor · Funding, credit & commercial strategy · Ex-Wayflyer

Mark spent over four years at Wayflyer, joining pre-Series A and rising to Global Head of Credit. He helped scale the business from fewer than 30 employees to 500+ across the US, EMEA and APAC, building the credit risk framework, underwriting models, finance policies and portfolio operations from scratch.

His teams reviewed 10,000+ eCommerce and CPG businesses across Shopify, Amazon, WooCommerce and Magento, deploying more than $5 billion in capital to high-growth digital brands worldwide. He personally managed Wayflyer’s biggest accounts, with the businesses behind them generating trailing revenue in excess of $1 billion, while leading niche acquisition financing deals requiring bespoke underwriting.

Since Wayflyer, Mark has held senior leadership positions in a scaling consumer brand, co-founded eCommerce ventures, and sat on the credit committee of a private lending platform. These operating, founder and governance appointments keep him close to the decisions founders and lenders actually face, from cash-flow management and product launches to underwriting discipline and risk governance. A qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA), he began his career in Private Equity M&A at KPMG in New York.

That combination, lender, operator, founder and advisor, sits at the core of how theeCommlab engages: capital markets fluency, retail-native commercial instinct, and execution that lands on Monday morning.

Hands-on commercial advisory for eCommerce and retail brands.

We've run the P&L, not just reviewed it.

theeCommlab is a senior advisory practice by design: engagements are kept deliberately few so eCommerce and retail founders get the person doing the analysis, in the room, on the work. Growth, commercial, finance and data are treated as one job, not four departments, so every decision you make comes from one set of numbers.
